ONSHORE, Houston, Texas, USA
The MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT SUPERVISOR (based out of Houston, Texas, USA) will provide offshore operation support for all rigging and in-water equipment issues. Provide direct support to the offshore staff as well as advising onshore operations staff. Provide technical support for offshore staff with regard to equipment operation, failures, servicing, and installation. Research and provide solutions and systems for the approval of the technical and operations groups. Implement and review solutions and systems within the offshore operations. Ensure correct procedures and approved equipment is correctly utilized throughout the fleet; collating and documenting within established guidelines. Training and mentoring the offshore staff within established guidelines. Assist Project Engineer through the conception, development, implementation and review of engineering projects. Authorize specifications for equipment procurement and vessel docking periods. Qualifications and Abilities: Qualified candidate will have 5 – 10 years experience. 4 year Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent. Prior experience as Chief Mechanic or Operations Supervisor. Knowledge of rigging aspects of seismic operations. Experience operating, servicing and trouble-shooting vessel equipment. Previous management experience and good communication skills needed.
OFFSHORE, Global
The QC GEOPHYSCIST is responsible for Quality Control and Assurance of seismic and navigation data sets, log keeping, survey progress reporting and other duties as defined. Requirements are a degree in Geophysics, Geology, Physics or Mathematics or equivalent relevant work experience required. A minimum of two years previous marine seismic data acquisition experience is needed. Must possess previous offshore work experience. Must be a team player with a willingness to jump in and help whenever necessary. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in PCs and MS Office necessary. Working knowledge of UNIX, preferred, but not required. Must have a valid passport before starting employment. Submit to and pass a drug screening and UKOOA medical. Requirements are a BS (MS preferred) in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Oceanography, Ocean Engineering or Marine Science. UNIX experience and previous seagoing experience a plus. The NAVIGATIONAL ANALYST determines the sufficient raw data is recorded by the Real-Time Integrated Navigation System to fulfill contract specifications with regards to missing data and network redundancy. Ensure a rigorous QC of information including: raw navigation quality, geodetic parameters, equipment offset measurements, data format conformity and processed navigation data. Ensure an accurate and consistent set of QC products is generated during the processing sequence. Perform trend analysis of the quality statistics derived from processing in a survey-wide, or chronological mode as an aid in determining hardware failures, network degradation or environmental effects. Requirements are a degree in Geodesy, Marine Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Marine Technology or Electrical Engineering or relevant/substitute work experience. Proficiency with PCs and MS Office. Working knowledge of UNIX and/or Concepts preferred. Must have a valid passport before starting employment. Submit to and pass a drug screening and UKOOA medical. The NAVIGATOR responsible for the recording quality of navigation data onboard the vessel. In charge of the accurate setup and operation of ALL navigation acquisition systems and sub-systems onboard the assigned vessel. Ensure that all components of navigation acquisition operations run efficiently and effectively to minimize down time. Perform installation and maintenance of the above systems and their associated cables and antennas located on the masts, catwalks and on in-water floats. Perform proper layout of seismic recording equipment and ensure proper connections have been made to recording equipment. For this position, you must have working knowledge of UNIX preferred but not required. GPS – Navigation experience a plus. Associates degree or above in Hydrographic Surveying, Marine Science, Marine Technology or Electronic Engineering a plus. Must possess willingness and ability to travel and work offshore for extended periods of time (current rotation is six weeks offshore / six weeks leave). The NAVIGATOR (Trainee) will be trained to operate integrated navigation systems and various other positioning systems. Train to control vessel, streamer and gun positions while conducting seismic surveys. Help perform simple installation and maintenance on the above systems. Help perform installation and maintenance on their associated cables and antennas located on the mast, catwalks and on in-water floats. Assist in all other areas of the operations as required. Requirements are an AAS (BS preferred) in Hydrographic Surveying, Geomatics, Marine Science, Marine Technology, Electronic Engineering or Military equivalent. The OBSERVER is responsible for the accurate setup and operation of all seismic recording systems and streamers onboard the vessel and must ensure optimum performance. Ensure that all components of the seismic recording operations run efficiently and effectively to minimize down time. Ensure that routine and incidental seismic maintenance requirements are met through expeditious use of non-recording time. Ensure that all cable deployment and retrieval operations are carried out as expeditiously as possible, within the constraints of safety of personnel, equipment and quality of data. Ensure that all contractual and internal seismic quality control specifications for the job are met or exceeded. Requirements are an AS Degree or above in a GeoScience discipline a plus. Evaluate and record information regarding acquisition conditions. Assist in deployment and retrieval of in-water equipment. Assist in maintaining and making minor repairs to acquisition equipment. Assist in all other areas of operations as required. Requirements are an AAS in Electronics, Marine Science, Marine Technology or military equivalent. The TECHNICIAN will maintain and repair all recording systems and associated sub-systems onboard the vessel on a day-to-day basis and ensure all acquisition systems are properly installed. Minimize down time by maintaining all recording systems and sub-systems to such a level that they run efficiently and effectively. Assist in upgrades of Acquisition Systems. Effectively track acquisition equipment movements off and on assigned vessel. Liaise with vendor technicians regarding repairs to 3rd party equipment on board assigned vessel. Assist with board inventory maintenance, ship instruments and equipment as needed. Assist with weekly and monthly technical reports to the office. The SOURCE TECHNICIAN is responsible for the successful operation and maintenance of the high-pressure seismic source arrays (air guns) minimizing operational downtime. Ensure that all components within the source department are deployed and retrieved safely, efficiently and effectively to minimize down time. Ensure that routine and incidental source maintenance requirements are met through expeditious use of non-recording time. Design and propose modifications to existing acquisition equipment to meet changing operational demands. Requirements are an AS Degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic discipline or related field with an emphasis in hydraulics or pneumatics a plus. The MECHANIC (Trainee) will be trained to maintain and repair par-pneumatic sound source machinery, including bolt par 1500c, 1900c and 600b air-guns. Train to maintain and repair other mechanical equipment as required. Requirements are a High School Diploma. Mechanical Vocational Technical Diploma, preferred or military equivalent. Some experience maintaining and repairing par-pneumatic sound source machinery, a plus. Must have a valid passport before starting employment. Submit to and pass a drug screening and UKOOA medical.
