WesternGeco Q-Marine* seismic survey technology

Q is 4D Ready and provides fully calibrated seismic surveys qualified for use in a time-lapse study.

Q-Marine  allows the recording of 4000 individual hydrophones on each of up to 20 streamers, providing a capability of up to 80,000 channels. The key characteristics of the Q-Marine System are:

 - Ultra slim-line streamer with waterproof electronics;
 - State of the art proprietary low-power ASIC front end;
 - High system reliability accomplished using state of the art technology, redundancy, and real-time system monitoring;
 - High-speed ATM fiber optical network;
 - High fidelity tubular hydrophones eliminate distortion and improve long-term stability;
 - Receiver perturbations eliminated through single-sensor recording and digital calibration;
 - Single-sensor recording permits use of online adaptive noise attenuation;
 - Inline Q-Fin** streamer steering and acoustic positioning units integrated with streamer power and telemetry system;
 - Full streamer acoustic network providing improved positioning accuracy.
